ADMISSION Enrollment is open to any child regardless of race, religious belief, ethnic origin or disability as long as the center is able to meet the needs of the child. ALLERGIES Children's names and known allergies are posted so that all employees are made aware of their conditions. ARRIVAL Young children depend on a routine for their own sense of security. We recommend that you establish fixed hours for drop off and pick up. Please have your child inside the facility by 8:30 for them to receive breakfast and be here for the learning portion of the day. We will not allow any child to come after that time. Our clock in system will be the official time keeper. Parents, guardians or designees are required to sign children in upon arrival and out at departure. Please accompany your child through the classroom door and alert a staff member that your child has arrived. ATTENDANCE Attendance is an important part of your child's education. However, we understand that there are times one must be out. If for any reason your child will not be attending, please notify us. Excessive and unexplained absences are grounds for termination from our program. There is no rate reduction for unattended days. BACKPACK POLICY Please do not allow your child(ren) to bring any backpacks into the facility. DEPARTURES Please allow a few minutes for your child to clean up and check their cubbies. Children will not be released to any person not listed on the emergency contact list. A driver's license or other picture identification is required when picking up any child. Children will only be released to persons over 18 years of age. DIAPERING Parents are asked to supply the center with enough diapers for 6 diaper changes per day. You are welcome to bring a large supply and we will notify you when supply is low. DISCIPLINE Discipline and guidance at our school is consistent and based on the individual's need and development. With our positive guidance we try to promote self-discipline & self-behavior. Alternatives to physical punishment are used such as: brief supervised separation from the group. Children are never subject to harsh treatment of any kind, such as shaking, spanking, or embarrassment. EMERGENCY TREATMENT Upon admission, you must sign an emergency medical treatment form. This gives us permission to take necessary and reasonable measures to ensure the health, welfare, and safety of your child(ren). In case of accidental injury or sudden illness, we will make an immediate attempt to contact you. If we cannot reach you, or other emergency contact(s) as listed on your child's enrollment form, we will arrange transportation to the hospital. FOOD/SNACKS All meals and snacks are prepared in our school's kitchen. Our facility has health and sanitation inspections annually. We follow all health & sanitation practices as stated in the minimum standards handbook. We provide two well-balanced meals and one nutritious snack to our children daily. These promote growth, good thinking, help fight infections, and provide fuel for children's bodies. Water is always provided for students anytime of the day. Milk is served (2 times daily) with each meal. 100% juices are served with the daily snack. FIRE DRILL Fire Drills are done each month. We will gather outside in the parking lot. HEARING & VISION POLICY All children 4 years of age must be tested for hearing and vision. It is required by the State of Texas as an early prevention. We must have on file a copy for each student's screening completion within 60 days of school. Please schedule an appointment through the local Health Department. These screenings are conducted by a licensed or certified screener. HEALTHY & SAFETY Be dressed appropriately for outside and indoor playtime. Leave toys and other items not necessary for the classroom at home. Supply an adequate amount of diapers and pulls. 4. All children must stay up to date on their immunizations, and we ask that you bring a shot record after any shots. IMMUNIZATION POLICY We must have on file a complete and current copy of your child's immunization record at time of enrollment. For the parents who do not immunize their children, due to religious reasons or others, we must have an Exemption from School or Childcare Immunizations for Reasons of Conscience affidavit and a form from their doctor stating that your child(ren) is in good health. TB screening is not required to be on file. LICENSING OFFICE The local office of Child Care Regulation is located at 3303 Mineola Highway, Tyler, Texas 75702 or online at www.hhs.texas.gov. To report suspicious abuse/neglect of children or abuse, neglect, and/or exploitation of persons 65 years or older and adults with disabilities, please contact the Abuse Hotline toll free 1-800-252-5400, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. MEDICATION We will not administer medications to children at any time. Parents are to give the children the medication before they drop the children off for the day. If it is needed during the day the parent must come into the facility, remove the child from the classroom and administer the medication. We cannot administer powders, creams, ointments or lotions without the parent's written consent. If consent is given the parent must also provide us with the powder, cream, etc. NAPTIME It is a requirement by the state for all children to have a daily rest period. Children do not have to go to sleep but will not be allowed to disrupt the rest period of others. NUTRITION/MEALS Profound Pillars is a participant in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) food program. Meals and snacks served to the children are nutritionally balanced and meet program guidelines. If your child is allergic to any foods, please let the center director know immediately. We must have a physician's note stating your child's allergy. Special dietary needs and allergies will be posted in the cooking, service and classroom areas and our staff will work with you to provide proper nutritious substitute foods for your child. The following meals are served: Breakfast Lunch PM Snack OPEN DOOR POLICY Parents must cooperate with the school in carrying out all governmental laws, rules and regulations affecting the operation of the school. Although we request cooperation in not disrupting our program, parents are welcome to visit the school any time your child is in attendance, without prior approval. Teachers may meet with parents to review each child's progress throughout the year. Parent/Teacher Conferences are encouraged and may be scheduled at any time by contacting the school office. What a child is accustomed to in the home environment may affect the child's behavior away from home. Because of a child's inability to accurately report these events, we would appreciate communication between parents and staff concerning unusual happenings or events. such as illness, death, changes in living arrangements, extra stimulation, etc. It is essential that you keep all information regarding your child current. Please notify us of any changes in critical information. Any concerns a parent may have or assistance that's needed, please feel free to discuss these concerns with the director. POLICY CHANGES You are provided a handbook prior to your child's admission and given an opportunity to read and discuss the information in the handbook with administration. Anytime policies and or procedures change that affect the operations of the center throughout the year, you will be notified in writing within a reasonable time frame. You are always welcome to discuss any policy or procedures with the director at any time. REFUND If a refund is deemed necessary, it will be issued in no more than 14 days. REGISTRATION FEE There is a $50 registration per child. This fee does not guarantee you a spot. It only allows you to pick up paperwork. In the case that multiple families are called for an opening, the family that brings paperwork and 1st week tuition in first will be awarded the spot. RELEASE OF CHILDREN Children are released only to the persons whom the center has written parental permission for. Identification is required from all parties retrieving children. No exceptions. Please submit in writing when someone else will be picking up your child(ren). Pick up persons must: Be on the parent pick up list. Have a picture I.D. 3.) Must be 18 or older. SAFETY OF CHILDREN Parents you are expected to sign your child(ren) in & out each day using your first and last name. This is extremely important, because the sign in sheet is a legal document. Severe weather drills are conducted twice a year. Designated doors are clearly marked as fire exits. A record of all drills is located inside the director's office. SMOKING Smoking and or vaping is not permitted on school grounds; no exceptions. SPECIAL DIET & EVENTS Our school has adopted a "No Seal – No Service" policy. This means, any foods you as the parent would send for class snacks or birthday parties would have to be in the container it was purchased in or it cannot be served. Such as: juices, snack cakes, birthday cakes, etc. No home-made items are permitted or allowed due to children with severe allergies. SUPPLY FEE A supply fee of $50.00 per student is due quarterly on January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and October 1st for all children enrolled. TERMINATION We reserve the right to terminate enrollment for failure to follow policies listed or if we believe it is in the best interest of your child, the staff or other children at the facility. THIRD PARTY ISSUES We have multiple types of families enrolled in our school (married, single, divorced, separated, & grandparents). Parents please understand the role of the school. We are not to play third party in any of these relationships. The enrolling parent is the primary party that is financially responsible for tuition payments. It's not the school's job to locate or contact the absent parents, wait for you to receive your child support checks, alimony, etc., before your tuition is paid. TUITION PAYMENT POLICY Tuition is due on the Friday before in order to secure your spot for the upcoming week. If tuition is not paid by close of business on Monday, a $25 late fee will be added to your account. If your balance is not paid by close of business on Tuesday, your child will not be accepted for care. Tuition is not based on the number of attended days. It's based on the spot held. CCS clients must follow their contracts payment days and amounts. Tuition is posted 2 times a week. You will be given a receipt. TUITION RATES Tuition is $150 per week for each child enrolled. Tuition does not change if child is absent for any number of days during the week. VOLUNTEER POLICY Any parent that chooses to be a regular volunteer (3 or more visits in 30 days) must also meet the minimum standards requirements that apply to all employees. They are as follows: Certified in First Aid & CPR Criminal background check Complete application with state 24 hours of CEU's WATER ACTIVITIES All water activities are supervised. Profound Pillars complies with Child Care Regulation in regard to water activity. Staff is trained in Pediatric CPR and First Aid. BREAST FEEDING We are pleased to partner with Breast Feeding Mothers. We will provide a safe and comfortable place. If you need these services, please talk with your child's teacher or a supervisor and we will be more than happy to help you. CELL PHONE The childcare facility is a Cell Phone Free Zone. We ask that you refrain from using your phone while inside the building. CLOTHING All children need to be brought to school in clothing that will enable them to play outside (when weather permits) free of fear of getting dirty. All children must have at least two changes of clothing to include socks and underwear. Toddlers will need more changes of clothing each day. Please label all clothing that belongs to your child. Please be mindful of weather conditions to dress your child appropriately; children are permitted to go outside every day, unless the temperature is below 50 degrees, above 99 degrees, or when it is raining. Closed-toe shoes that fit securely to the foot are required. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items such as clothing, hair bows, earrings, toys from home, etc. CONTROL OF COMMUNICABLE DISEASES Unfortunately, in a childcare environment that serves many children, communicable diseases frequently occur and spread. We do everything reasonably possible to minimize the spread of communicable diseases. This effort, however, requires the cooperation of parents and staff. We cannot provide care for your child if, during the past 24-hours, he/she has had any of the following symptoms: Fever We cannot accept a child with a temperature of over 100.4 degrees, without a known and non-contagious cause. If/when he/she presents with a fever of or above 100.4, we will call for you to take the child home. In consideration for the health of others, we require that you keep your child out of the school until he/she has been free of fever, without the use of medications for 24 hours. Diarrhea We will call you to pick up your child if he/she has 2 or more loose bowel movements and/or nausea and vomiting. Your child must be free of diarrhea, nausea, and/or vomiting symptoms for 24 hours before he/she can return. Colds We understand that children will have runny noses and coughs. However, if your child's mucus is thick and/or of unusual color, or is accompanied by congestion that inhibits resting, or if he/she acts or appears ill, he/she should remain at home until well enough to participate in all indoor and outdoor activities. Other Communicable Diseases Some diseases exclude a child from attendance at school. Some of these, and when a child can return, include: Disease — Can Return When: Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye) – Doctor's statement assuring treatment has begun. Hepatitis A – Seven days after onset of illness. Chicken Pox – Seven days after onset of rash. Strep Throat – 24 hours after start of antibiotic and fever has subsided. COVID-19 – If your child has been exposed to COVID-19, he/she will have to quarantine for a total of 14 days and have a negative COVID-19 test before returning to school. If your child develops symptoms of any of these, or other communicable diseases, please keep him/her home until no longer communicable, and notify the school. In this way we can notify other parents and limit the spread. HOLIDAYS The holidays we will be closed for are: New Year's Day MLK Day Juneteenth Good Friday Memorial Day 4th of July Labor Day Thanksgiving Day & the following Friday Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day Holidays that fall on the weekend day will be observed the Friday before or the Monday after. All holidays will be posted and will not be deducted from weekly fees. Teacher In-Service days will be announced in advance. INCLEMENT WEATHER Profound Pillar will follow the same policy as Tyler ISD. If they close, we will close. If they open late, we will open late. We may also close early due to weather or power outages; in those instances we will contact all parents to pick their children up immediately. ILLNESS & INJURY Children who are obviously ill will not be admitted. Fever over 100.4 is considered contagious. Profound Pillars DOES NOT DISPENSE MEDICATION. In case of accidental injuries, an accident report will be filled out and signed by the caregiver. All children who are sent home for medical reasons must be out for 24 hours or when symptom free.
